Please help!!
I replaced the screen on my 4S.
When switched on it works perfectly except a white transparent "halo" around the outside of the screen.
Its like the brightness is too high for 10mm all the way around the edge is the best way of describing it.
Someone must know what the devil is wrong with it....??

Your screen in not made to specifications. Something is too thick and the LCD Display is being pressed (smashed). The pressure on the display is giving the halo. Most likely the Front Glass is wrong, too thick. You need entire new Front Screen Assembly, unless you decide the Halo is OK.
Less likely but still possible, some object, ie screw, screwdriver, protection sheet was left in during the replacement process, and needs to be removed.
I did wonder this however its perfectly symetrical by its pattern so i wondered if it could be anything else??
Where am I likely to get a quality screen from instead of the sh1te that I have bought from an apparently respectable ebay seller?? (Im in the UK)
Ebay has good money back protection, if you contact seller first for refund, then follow up with Ebay if problem getting resolved. Hopefully your next purchase will be OK. There are several companies on Web, some are reputable, try a company that sells a full line of replacement parts, like nearly every part of iPhone.
i kniw this post is old but for others there is the two ribbons you send through the frame they will go allof the way through and everything will fit on some modles there is a 3rd ribbon that loops back you have to put that through the hole also if you forget then you can put the phone back together with little trouble but you will have halo all you need to do is dissasemble and put third ribbon through and there will be no halo
I'm having the same problem but did not replace the screen. It went dead, charged it, then the halo appeared....? Any suggestions?
Mine is exactly the same! When yours went off how long did it take to come back on? mine took days and then when it came back on, the halo was there?
I'm having the same issues. What did you do with yours eventually?
