Why has places stopped working with aperture 3

I need help trying to get places working with aperture 3.

When I have assigned photos, from my camera, to a place and click done, the photos disappear as does the flag on the map.

Photos from my iPhone 4 do not appear either.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), Aperture 3
