I have recently downloaded Mainstage 2.2.2 on a macbook pro running osx 10.6.8 with a 2.53 intel core 2 duo and 4gb ram.  I also downloaded all the jampacks.  The first couple of days of messing with it seemed to go ok but now everytime i start it up and load a concert, I can only get a couple of minutes normal audio before the audio goes into some horendous distortion.  I also have had issues early on of "unexpected shutdowns" while working in the layout screen building a mixer.  I should probably add that I am using a presonus firestudio project as the input.  My idea was to use Mainstage as a travel rig  for backing up my wife (vocalist) with guitar and keys.  I starting to feel as if this idea was too good to be true.  I have done this several times before using GB but liked the idea of having a all in one interface to work through.  I'm hoping someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong so that this program becomes stable.

Are you working with buffer size around 128 or 256?

How much free space do you have in your hard disk?

Are you running other software in the same time?

    Did you disable wifi?

How about an OS update to 10.7.4?

    Does GB still work well?

Buffer size = i believe it was 128 when I was having the issues

Free Hard Disk Space = not sure but the mainstage meters for CPU activity and memory were barely active if any at all

    No other software running

did not disable WIFI (why would I disable wifi?)

I could update I guess but everything else works great. GB is flawless.  I did however just update GB to 11 this week.  Not sure if that will help me any.  I really want to trust mainstage but right now the thought of using it in a set scares me a little.  Do you guys actually play live with it?

playing with the program tonight and was just adding a backing track to a blank patch.  Got the dreaded unexplained shut down message.

There was a workaround for that problem. You need to customize the toolbar: take away the CPU display.

Otherwise, do an update to 10.7.5, if possible.
