Setting up Verizon/Yahoo Email Access

For those of us who have a Verizon/Yahoo email account and want to keep it...

I was not able to find instructions on how to set it up on my iMac or MacBook Pro Mail but after much trail and error this is what I found works for me.

I knew the mail account was imap because I can set up my mail account on the iPad and Android (hissss) phone but how to set it up on my iMac and MacBook Pro was the issue.

Here are the not obvious settings that worked for me:

Under the Account Information tab.....

Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Check mark: Use Only this server

TLS Certification: None

Under the Advanced tab....

Check mark: Enable this Account

Check mark: Include when auto chkg for new mail

Leave IMAP Path Blank

Port: 993 Check mark: Use SSL

Authentication: Password

Quit out of Mail and Log Back in otherwise New Mail does not come thru.

All my mail folders I created on the Verizon/Yahoo mail site came over too.

Hope this helps somebody.
