Yahoo messenger

I'm wondering if anyone can help me install yahoo messenger on my Powerbook I have 10.4.5. installed and all the most recent software updates. When I download it this is the file name ymsgr2.5.3-osxinstall.bin When I click on it it says choose application I can not get this installed help would be appritiated. Thanks

You need to download Stuffit Expander. That program will open that file. You can get Stuffit Expander at the following site:

Install Stuffit Expander, available free from Stuffit.com, in order to pen the .bin file.

I have two questions now.
1. Do you have to keep stuffit expander installed?
2. Can you set iChat for yahoo messenger using jabber

1. Do you have to? No. Should you? Yes, as many Mac downloads are formatted in .sti, .sitx and .bin formats...all of which are native formats for Stuffit.

2. Sorry, but I don't know. I hate Instant Messengers and do not use them.
