I use it for the same purposes. The line drawing and image quality is quite good. The cartridges last well too but I usually outsource large number batch A1 prints. I'm sure the quality of newer printers is likely to have improved... the cartridges lasting may not have improved!
I bought it originally to double up as a proofing printer for graphics but the proofing software hasn't been suported for a long time. I can't tell exactly what may be missing in functionality, it has the same print dialogue most printers have, paper size, A1 or A1 on a roll, paper type etc. I didn't get the roll feed at the time which I regret as it's difficult to source now and loading each page is a bit of a pain.
If you have a sample composite drawing, try printing it there. If you're happy with the quality, what more would you want? I can check anything specific if you want.
Maybe someone else might share their experience here?
Frankly I find it strange that there's a driver for the 130 but not the 120; HP might give you a reason!
