Q: "iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs you need to reinstall iTunes"

I have attempted to install iTunes on three different Window 7machines (desktop + (2) laptops) with the same result.  I have deleted, reinstalled, repared, etc, several times.  Why is iTunes not installing properly?

I don't really care for iTunes, but since I just switched to an iPhone this seems to be the only way to get my music on the phone.  If anyone knows of a way to do it without having to use iTunes, I would be very happy

Thank you,

Pam

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?

In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:

    ... and click "Next".

When you get through to the final screen:

... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)

Many thanks. This looks to be our culprit:

    CD Driver Not Available

With that one, I'd start with solution 3 from the following document:

iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install
