Whenever I send an email, it appears in my inbox as though I had sent it to myelf. I have cc and bcc unchecked and can't seem to figure out how to stop this. View related messages is unchecked.

Just double checking that you have this option unchecked.
Other than this, it could be a mail rule.
Hi Fred, yes, that's unchecked, in fact it never has been checked. I also checked rules, the only rules I have are to display colors for various categories of correspondents

Miriam, do you have any server side rules set up. ie www.icloud.com or your isp vendor.
Under the View menu, is Organize By Conversation checked?
Same thing is happening in my Mail program. Driving me insane!
Not sure if you've figured this out yet but...
mail preferences-viewing- uncheck "include related messages".
That should solve your problem.
