Why does Safari keep crashing

1. Open Disk Utility, select the volume and repair permissions

2. Install the most recent version of your plugins (Java, Flash)

3. Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced, select Show Develop menu in menu bar and open Develop > Empty caches

4. Open Safari > Reset Safari

I had this problem with Safari 6.0.1 in Lion 10.7.5. I followed the procedure above--it worked on my 24 inch early 2009 iMac. However this has been a recurring problems and wonder if an upcoming update will fix it more permanently?
