I know a lot of people are having heating up issues with the bottom of the macbook pro retina, but my top is getting hot.
above the esc and function keys. Am I alone, should I take to genius? or is this common and nothing to worry about?

Both my 2006 MBP and my 2012 MBP-R heat up there more than anywhere else. That's only a sample size of two, but I believe it is common for Apple notebooks to heat up there.
My whole keyboard is hot after a while. Makes it uncomfortable to type.
Yeah my retina start getting extremely hot (the metal and the keys) around the S key. Even when the average CPU is at 3%. This happens only when i'm on skype or facetime.
