We have been upgraded to the new airport utility. The one with the graphical interface that does appear to leave out a lot of information about the network, the DHCP server and the display of the signals being received from connected devices.
I managed to download the older version 5.6, but I was wondering if there would be a possibility to get al the information mentioned above by using the new utility?
Although the 6.x version has a number of features that the 5.x had, it is not as complete ... and some of those features can only be had using version 5.x. Both versions will run just fine under Mountain Lion, but version 5.x won't install ... at least not via the traditional sense.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder.

Interesting, I'll keep this in mind when I upgrade to ML. We always wait a little while :-).
Are there ways to trigger the new version to still show the information we used to get in older versions?
There are a number of posts here that describe some of the differences. The following one has a great write-up by Derek Currie about half way down the post.
... and if your not running ML yet, you can go ahead and install 5.6 (if running Lion) or 5.6.1 (if running Leopard or Snow Leopard). Both will coexist just fine on the same device.
