amber light is constantly on

I have an airport extreme base, and have had a airport express for a few years to play my music on my stereo. Now, all of a sudden, the amber light is on constantly on the airport express (except for a rare time when the green light flashes for a few seconds). As a result, the express is no longer in my wireless network. I have tried unplugging it for more than 10 seconds, as well as pressing the reset button, but always the same result. What else can I do

Unfortunately, this is a symptom that there has been an internal electronic component failure on the AirPort Express and it will need to be replaced.

Shop repairs are not feasible, but if you have the time and inclination, carefully saw open the AirPort Express along the center seam to open up the case and look for something obvious...like a connector that has somehow come loose, or a wire that has broken off from a solder joint.

It's a real longshot, so do this more for the fun of it than expecting to find the actual fault.
