    Hi William,

    What OS is on it?

If it connects to the Internet, there should be a way, but iCloud is out.

What Speed Internet connection does it have?

How big is what you need to backup?

Does it have an Ethernet cable?

    Hi BDAqua,

    The OS is 9.0.

Yes, the ethernet set up is fine so it does connect to the internet.

    Cable Modem 9 Mb/s speed

I would like to save or backup about 100 MB at the most.

Yes, it does have Ethernet access & cable.

    Thank you for your help.

    Sincerely,

    William

I think you'd be best using File Sharing & transfer to another Mac, but many ISPs provide Disk space... who do you use, & do you have any Apps to compress he files?

What other computers do you have & the OSes?

    Hi BDAqua,

Yes, I wish I had another Mac.

Can I use the DB25 port?

I was wondering if I could purchase a SCSI to USB cable and then back up the files to a USB connected external hard drive?

I think there is Stuffit delux on the HD.

My other machines are PC's running Windows ME, 2000, XP.

I am trying to recyle to one machine until I get a new job.

Thank you again for your help.

    Sincerely,

    WIlliam

Looks like SCSI, but isn't, so that adapter will NOT work.

Stuffit Deluxe should be good, it'll maintain the Forks & such if you transfer to a PC for now.

    Hi BDAqua,

So you are staing that the DB25 port cannot be used to transfer the data to an external storage drive?

You recommend using stuffit deluxe and transfering the though what port?

What about transferring the files to a DropBox account?

Thank you again for your help.

    Sincerely,

    William

Well, is that DB25 Port SCSI I guess? Do you have an external SCSI Drive? Any other computer that can read/connect SCSI to?

After stuffing them, then using either File Sharing, or Internet to transfer them.

What about transferring the files to a DropBox account?

I was thinking about mentioning DropBox, but not sure if OS9 could login into or use it, see if you can, that would work great.

    Hey W.,

You're a bit stuffed in terms of connectivity and you need to access all the system files.

    However you could...

    1) Buy hard drive shell (for a few bucks) and place drive in that (should work but a bit geeky).

    2) Make an img image with OS9 DiskUtil and upload it to a file site.

    3) Use a spare hard drive and buy a PCI USB/FW card and boot from OS disk and Diskcopy the drive.

Or take it to a professional to make you a CD/DVD if it is that important ;-).

    A.
