I have a v3i with a 1 gig TF card in it, and my itunes still only allows the 50 song limit. After poking around all the phone boards (I customize my motorolas, so I've messed with all the flashes/flexes, and all the purported hacks for itunes) and I've also talked to motorola and apple, so Ill share what I found out.
1. There are three versions of the motorola razr V3i out there, one without itunes at all (that uses the R479 prefixed flashes) and two with itunes, one type has a 50 song limit, and one has a 100 song limit (they both use the R47A prefixed flashes). No one seems to know why some phones are at 50 and others at 100. The song limits appear to be hardcoded several places in the phone so no single flash or flex (the user files) will change what you have. None of the hacks do anything but give you a corrupted itunes system, so dont bother with any of those.
2. Motorola is clueless about the issues with this, and since the phone is not official in the US yet, they dont support it.
3. Apple is more aware of the situation, and offers an upgrade to 100 songs from 50 from NON US ITUNES STORES, but not the us one. They may do that when cingular starts to sell the phone this year, but its not clear which one they will sell.
4. If you are a US customer you can get to the upgrade program but it wont work on your phone, so no help there
Right now people are either living with what they have and joining songs together before loading them to get around the limit, some are using DAP (the motorola digital player, not too bad) to play music.
Best thing to do is to wait this out and see what happens--and if you decide to mess with your phones firmware, try some easy stuff first before you go at itunes, unbricking your phone is kind of a pain, but on the other hand you will learn a great deal about how it works.......
