Razr V3i 50 song limit?!?

I bought an unlocked gsm Razr V3i, it shipped from the Phillipines with a 256mb card. Itunes limits the phone to 50 songs, so I bought a 512mb card thinking I would get at least 100 songs. I am still limited to 50. The phones' software is up-to-date and I'm running the latest version of itunes (6.0.4). I even tried the ipod updater (10-3-23) for a possible firmware update. Any idea how I can increase this limit?

From Apple Support FAQs:
"How much flash storage will I need to store songs on my phone?

To store 25 average-length songs on your phone, you will need 128MB of available flash storage space. To store 50 average-length songs on your phone, you will need 256MB of available flash storage space. To store 100 average-length songs on your phone, you will need 512MB of available flash storage space."

I would be happy with 100 songs if I can get it, any ideas?

I'm not too fimiliar with how Motorolas iTunes software works, but I know that it must be different from the SLVR and the ROKR. Its the iTunes software on the phone itself that is limiting the amount of songs that can be added at once, and the only way to change it would be completely restringing a lot of the code - which I have no clue how to do =/
So I can't really help much.

I have a v3i with a 1 gig TF card in it, and my itunes still only allows the 50 song limit. After poking around all the phone boards (I customize my motorolas, so I've messed with all the flashes/flexes, and all the purported hacks for itunes) and I've also talked to motorola and apple, so Ill share what I found out.

1. There are three versions of the motorola razr V3i out there, one without itunes at all (that uses the R479 prefixed flashes) and two with itunes, one type has a 50 song limit, and one has a 100 song limit (they both use the R47A prefixed flashes). No one seems to know why some phones are at 50 and others at 100. The song limits appear to be hardcoded several places in the phone so no single flash or flex (the user files) will change what you have. None of the hacks do anything but give you a corrupted itunes system, so dont bother with any of those.
2. Motorola is clueless about the issues with this, and since the phone is not official in the US yet, they dont support it.
3. Apple is more aware of the situation, and offers an upgrade to 100 songs from 50 from NON US ITUNES STORES, but not the us one. They may do that when cingular starts to sell the phone this year, but its not clear which one they will sell.
4. If you are a US customer you can get to the upgrade program but it wont work on your phone, so no help there

Right now people are either living with what they have and joining songs together before loading them to get around the limit, some are using DAP (the motorola digital player, not too bad) to play music.

Best thing to do is to wait this out and see what happens--and if you decide to mess with your phones firmware, try some easy stuff first before you go at itunes, unbricking your phone is kind of a pain, but on the other hand you will learn a great deal about how it works.......

The motorola SLVR L7 from cingular only allows the 100 song limit but the V3i only allows 50 songs.. I have tried everything after i bought a 512 meg trans flash card. So 50 songs is all we get the rest I use to shoot vedio and use as Hard drive instead of a stick. Its strange that motorola would allow slvr with 100 songs and comes with 512 card and v3i comes with 64 to 256 card... Some programer probably did not realize the coding. So thanks for the post below to confirm that i am not the only one going crazy to get 100 songs. I have both the SLVR and v3i.. SLVR *****. but speaker sound is better on SLVR but keypad is no good.. Motorola only nows how to make flip phones. Any one hear when Nokia will come with Itune... The N70 has a good mp3 player but Itunes is better
