So a couple of weeks ago my 4G iPod touch stopped playing music out of my Sony Docking Speakers. I know it there isn't a problem with the speakers because all of my friend's iPods/iPhones work when they plugger theirs in and also it won't play out of other docks either. It still chargers the iPod though. I've reseted and started all over but it still won't play out of any spekers.
- Can you sync the iPod to your computer?
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
- You said started all over . If that means you restored the iPod to factory settings/new iPod that would indicate you have a hardware problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
I have the same problem..my 4th gen iPod touch has stopped playing on all docks it used to work on. I updated to IOS 6, and since it hasn't worked.
Same problem here. I bought a new Altec 650 dock, and was working great until I updated the OS. Now nothing. Can't get sound from my brothers Bose Dock, his older OS Ipod works just fine. Is this an OS 6 problem?
