How to show only Unchecked Songs In Library

I would Like to know how to get iTunes to show or create a playlist of all the songs In my Library that are unchecked for transfers to my iPod and other things. Like so many people My Library is HUGE and I need to go thru it and see what songs I have unchecked or may of been auto unchecked. Some songs I tranfered to my iPod and then unchecked them so they either were not updated to the iPod or did not show up in certain playlist on the iPod. I Plan on reformatting the ipod soon and need to check these songs so they are transfered again to it after reformatting

I can't help you with making a playlist, also I had a look around for any scripts that might help but couldn't come across any. However, if all you want to do is make sure that all the songs in your Library are unchecked then you can use a keyboard shortcut. To check or uncheck all the songs in a list "Control and click" the checkbox next to a song. You'll need to do it twice, the first time will uncheck everything, the second will check everything. Hope this is of some use, if not I'm sure someone else will be along who can help with a way to identify your tracks.

Your reply was very helpful, But Im mainly wanting to make a smart playlist in iTunes that will auto update. That a way I will have a up to date list of all songs I have unchecked now and in the future.

I had the same problem and solved it by creating 2 smart playlists.
Name the first one 'checked'

This is the second playlist, which only contains unchecked songs:

OMG Thank you so much, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!! Now I have a smart playlist of all unchecked songs in a nice live updating list!!!

The way I did it was very similar:

Create one smart playlist whose criteria is something that includes everything. Mine is called Library Checked and has the following criteria:
Bitrate is greater than 0
Match only checked songs

Create another smart playlist called Library Unchecked whose criteria is the opposite:
Playlist is not Library Checked
Match all songs (not just checked)

If you want to burn some of those unchecked tracks to a CD:
1. turn off smart updating in the playlist
2. check the tracks you want to burn
3. burn the tracks
4. uncheck the tracks (ctrl-click multiple selected tracks and choose uncheck selection)

If you do not turn off smart updating before starting, your checked tracks will disappear from the playlist and all will be lost. 😉
