Trying to share internet with an xbox via thunderbolt ethernet adapter

I have a 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display and I recently purchased a thunderbolt gigabit ethernet adapter for it. I was hoping to use internet sharing to share the wifi from my laptop to my xbox 360 via the thunderbolt ethernet port but have been unable to connect. I set all the IP addresses to DCHP and automatic but it still doesn't want to connect. Is there a way to fix this?

I finally got it to work. I did have thunderbolt sharing FROM Wi-Fi enabled, but my firewall was preventing my XBOX from connecting. Right now I'm just turning it off and it works fine, connects to xbox live etc. I'm sure there are ways to go into firewall options and make an exception that will allow my Xbox through without fully disabling it but I haven't looked into this yet.
