iDVD when launched only plays the music of the project, but I can't see the project???

When I try to create a new iDVD project, I get as far as naming and creating a theme for the project. Once I click save, I can hear the music, but I don't see the project. When I go to the dashboard, I see the project, but can't get it to open on the desktop. This is also the case for projects I have already made. How can I fix it?? I saw other feeds that said to delete the com. apple.idvd. file, but the file is nowhere to be found on my computer.

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Once you get that library folder visible you'll be able to try this basic troubleshooting fix:

1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

User/Home(User uploaded file)/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home(User uploaded file)/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

3 - launch IDVD and try again.

I did try to create a new project. This is what happened. I opened iDVD and clicked start a new project. I named the project and opted to save it on the desktop. An icon of the project showed up on the desktop and I can hear the music of the project, but I cannot see the project to add the videos or choose theme. When I click on the launch pad, I can see the project. When I click on the project in launch pad, the screen is returned to the desktop but the project is not there, just music. The only other user account I have besides the main one, is called guest. I clicked on that but it was Safari only. How do I create another user account? I'm willing to try anything.

I was calling mission control launch pad..when I opend mission control I could see the project and when I clicked on the project from there I could not bring it to the desktop. I'm so sorry. How do i shut down mission control? I so appreciate you sticking with me and trying to figure out iDVD..I had been using it almost daily for a year without any problems.

This worked for me. Thanks for the tip!

I was sad when I opened iDVD and it didn't work. I've used it so much over the years to give clients a physical DVD of some of the work we've done together. I think digital delivery is great, but for a small non-profit, it's hard to get to good digital delivery without getting expensive.
