Everytime I click my email, I get the pinwheel of death. When I go to iCloud in settings, same thing . . . more pinwheel. It never stops. Everything else is working fine, but there's something about the email and/or iCloud that is causing this. No clue how to fix. I've got a cloud email account, and it works fine on phone and ipad. Just not mac. Any ideas? Thanks!
I'll just add my situation to the list. After installing Mountain Lion, then attempting to add an icloud mail accoun to Mail, I get the pinwheel a number of different ways in the program, especially when trying to open Mail Preferences.
I encountered the same issue when in safe mode...the pinwheel when trying to go to Mail Preferences. So far I have tried the following:
Close Mail and remove the AddressBook file from Library for my User account
Repair disk permissions
I'd appreciate any ideas.
I'll add that, if I wait a really long time, Mail Preferences will sometimes come up. When I disable my iCloud mail account in Mail prefs, the unresponsiveness goes away. If I re-enable the iCloud mail account, it returns.
