I've lost my iphone device, I dont have the mac address of the device. Is mac address of the device unique?
Can I trace it using IMEI number when it is connected to Wifi?
Is there any way to find MAC address using IMEI number?

The only way tyo trace it is using the Find My iPhone service in iTunes
IMEI or any other numebr wont help you there.
If it was stolen:
Contact local law enforcement to report the iPhone stolen and provide them with the IMEI or serial number.
Report you SIM stolen to you carrier. They might be able to block it only for outgoing calls, so you could still call the phone or use find My iPhone. But not all carriers offer that.
Find My iPhone is absolutely a waste of time. Your phone gets stolen, you manage to use Find My iPhone in time to lock your iphone and what happens? A couple of minutes later they are able to turn off the phone!!!! Even though it's LOCKED they can still turn off the phone and make it impossible to find...

You can't trace it that way. With ios 7 now, any stolen phone cannot be used due to the activation lock.
