Sep 5, 2012 12:30 PM in response to Raghav17by planb77,Is this the first time you are trying to connect this iPod Shuffle to this Mac? Is the Mac running the latest version of iTunes (which is 10.6.3 at the time of this writing)?
Make sure that the connections on each end with the Shuffle and the connection to the Mac's USB port are nice and snug. If nothing else try another USB port.
It wouldn't hurt to also reset the Shuffle with it still connected to your Mac.

Sep 5, 2012 2:11 PM in response to Raghav17by Kenichi Watanabe,Also, if your older shuffle is 2nd gen, make sure you are not using the USB cable that came with a 3rd or 4th gen shuffle. The connector is different.
