cyclistgeorge,

This has happened to me several times since the old post.

What I have found is to do nothing.

I try a few of the obvious things (restarting - etc) but when

I just put the computer down for a day or so, it seems to fix itself.

I pick it up and you would never know there was anything wrong.

So I think it has to be yahoo, not having their act together with mail.

I hope this is something you can do (getting away from it for a day or two, some people can't.

Good Luck!

Hold the curser down on the mail icon on the dock until a menu comes above the icon, move curser to 'quit' and click, wait a second and light will go away. If mail is still working (message going out or in), the light will stay on until finished, then go out.

Yes, mail can be force quit. Apple menu (top left in menu bar) > force quit > select mall and click.

Hope this works for you.

I'm sorry I can't help. You have a newer computer than I, and they are different. I don't have 'go to favorite mailbox' in my mailbox selections.

If you ask these questions in discussions and Google the question, you may get the answer. If not, walk into an Apple Store and they will answer your question in about 5 seconds. They are great.

Make it fun, ever though it is frustrating sometimes.
