I have a Pages document on my iPad. How can I convert this document to a PDF file and send it as an email attachment?
Pages Help on my iPad says, "Pages documents created or edited on your iOS device can be exported for viewing or editing in Pages or Microsoft Word, or Viewing as a PDF file, on a computer. I can not find an explanation of how to do this.

Select Print. In the Print dialog on the lower left side is a PDF dropdown menu. Select Print to File.
I'm sorry. The above is for the Mac version of Pages. I don't know if the iOS Pages offers an option to create a PDF.
When I select Print I am asked to Select Printer. Doing this looks for a printer and I get a message, "No AirPrint Printers found. I have a WiFi capable printer to which I can print from my Macbook Air. Is this and AirPrint printer? If so my iPad is not recognizing it.
At this time, the ability to convert a document in Pages to PDF or MS Word is only available in the Share and Print > Email Document function. With the document open in Pages, look for the wrench icon in the upper right of the screen.
I am using a Lexmark Pro901 printer, which does not appear to be an "AirPrint" printer. I don't want to actually print this document. I want to convert it to a PDF and email the PDF document.
You might try using AirPrint Activator 2.2b5 or Printopia 2.1.6 to enable AirPrint to any printer, not just those supporting AirPrint.
HAs nothing to do with AirPrint. When you email a document from Pages, it will give you the option to send it as a PDF. Read my previous post again.

Perfect answer and it works exactly as you say. Apple's Help file should be modified to make this clear. Obviously everyone elae on this thread except you did not understand this. In Mountain Lion and earlier verisons of the o/s, one creates a PDF by selecting Print.
That is because OS X uses print drivers, and can include one for PDF generation, IOS doesn't. And yeah online help is a little lacking.

It will give you the option to select PDF when you select Email.

So...there is no "Export" function in the iOS version of Pages or Numbers? I've gotten used to exporting to PDF in that manner while using my MacBook. If I have to go back to 'print to file' that is fine. I assume I can then save it somewhere on the iPad?

How is the PDF file formatted? Is it the same as the 'print view'?
I answered this question....tried it on my MacBook as well as my iPhone. NOW the whole iCloud document thing makes more sense to me! Excellent.

It does appear to work similar to print preview on a Mac in terms of how it formats (if I understand your question). I,haven't encounterd any particularly troubling format issues as of yet, but I don't use it a great deal.
