Mid 2009 macbook pro with leopard which over the years has been upgraded to lion. Hard drive failure and changed drive, restored from time machine backup but cannot reboot from it and thus have lost all upgrades. Have to reboot from leopard dvd and have now lost all upgrades. Agreed, I think it's a terrible way to do it as far as the user goes, but how did you get 10.6 or 10.7 on it in the first place?

I think you need a 10.6 Disc... & might stick to 10.6. 😉

It's been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.

Call Apple Sales...in the US: 1-800-MY-APPLE.
