Airport Extreme USP HDD: spin down & DLNA indexing

Hello

I have just worked with Asus and Netgeer WLAN AP with USB to use HDD for DLNA to my TV.

In both cases there will be a Media Server installed on the HDD.

1) in both cases the Media Server is "indexing" the content every time either the HDD or router is powered off which takes quite some time with 2TB

(i.e. the media is only available one after another until the process is completed)

2) in both cases the HDD will never go in sleep mode, even if not used

My questions: with Apple Airport, how does this work here?

1) will the content be accessable immediately after power up (after initial indexing)

2) will the HDD be allowed to go in sleep mode when not used?

many thanks
