How do I replace my ethernet card?

My ethernet card is no longer working due to lightning. How do I go about replacing it? purchasing, uninstalling the old, and installing the new one. Please help me. "Ethernet Status: Unknown State The status of your network connection cannot be determined."

Unfortunately, you are in deep doo-doo. The wired Ethernet port is part of the logic board and cannot be replaced independently. As per IFixIt.com's price list, said board goes for around $800, plus the labor of getting it in correctly. Maybe opt for some sort of USB-to-Ethernet or FireWire-to-Ethernet dongle instead? Else it may be a sign that it is time to enjoy a new Mac...
