Sorry we just just got an emac for our kids it did not have an airport card so we purchased a wireless usd wifi adapter. The adapter seems to regordnize our network but it prompted us to submit our network key. Let me elaborate further. A profile properties box popep up in this box it said this network requirs a key for the following.

Network Autorization:WPA2_PAK (which icedentally is in a pull done window)

Data Encryption:AES (which also apairs in a pull done window)

Below that it ask for the network Key.

Im new to this so Im not sure where to get this info. Could someone please help

Another note this is for our wireless system I have a Mac Mini which is connected to our airport extreem. The emac will not connect and I can not connect via airport from the emac. When I go to set up network the airport option is not available. It only gives me obtions to hard wire connect for the internet. As I mentioned above the wifi adapter I purchase does recordnize the network it only request the network key which I'm not sure about.

You may want to check with the manufacturer of the USB adapter for specific instruction....

That being said, I've used USB adapters that require you to open the Network System Preference, then click the apply button in order to activate the USB network interface. Once that is done, you can go to the utility for the USB adapter and enter the password for the network.

If you don't know the password, you would need to find the reset button on the wireless router and set it up again. This would mean that computers that currently work would need to be re-configured as well.
