connecting to network
cant connect to network
cant connect to network
Not trying to be a dork, but, is this a question?
What sort of network? Wired, wireless, OD, AD, other?
What OS?
Did it ever work, or is this a new issue? Can other computers connect?
Sorry we just just got an emac for our kids it did not have an airport card so we purchased a wireless usd wifi adapter. The adapter seems to regordnize our network but it prompted us to submit our network key. Let me elaborate further. A profile properties box popep up in this box it said this network requirs a key for the following.
Network Autorization:WPA2_PAK (which icedentally is in a pull done window)
Data Encryption:AES (which also apairs in a pull done window)
Below that it ask for the network Key.
Im new to this so Im not sure where to get this info. Could someone please help
Another note this is for our wireless system I have a Mac Mini which is connected to our airport extreem. The emac will not connect and I can not connect via airport from the emac. When I go to set up network the airport option is not available. It only gives me obtions to hard wire connect for the internet. As I mentioned above the wifi adapter I purchase does recordnize the network it only request the network key which I'm not sure about.

You must find the key/password.
You may want to check with the manufacturer of the USB adapter for specific instruction....
That being said, I've used USB adapters that require you to open the Network System Preference, then click the apply button in order to activate the USB network interface. Once that is done, you can go to the utility for the USB adapter and enter the password for the network.
If you don't know the password, you would need to find the reset button on the wireless router and set it up again. This would mean that computers that currently work would need to be re-configured as well.
Where would I find the kjey password? Not sure where to look
Well, if it was an Apple Base Station you'd use Airport Utility to log into it, then from the Base Station menu choose Equivalent Network Password.
But maybe on a Mac that already connect automatically, open Keychain Access &...
I forgot a password in my Keychain

Ok Im stuck I tried acessing my base station through my emac but it says Airport Utility unable to read configuration. All other devives read this base station fine. How do I remedy this situation seems odd to me?
Find the PW on one of the others that can, but what encryption is it using? Is it set to allow 802.11b/g clients?
Ok I was able to find it on the from my other devices how ever its about 60 charactors long?Is that common? Havent tried it yet. AS for the configuration I'm not sure?
Yes, try copying that & pasting into a txt document that you can take to the eMac & open, copy & paste when asked for it.
Did the USB adaptor come with Mac drivers? These gadgets require drivers and many do not offer Mac drivers either on the CD packs with the adaptor or on the manufacturer's web site.
Well I have a window similar under profile it shows my network when i hit apply it still does not conect. I have another tab that reads availaable network it shows my network but still does not connect. Any clue as to what to do?
In Profile, did you choose the proper encryption your Router uses?
