Q: Aperture 3.2.2 wont start

I have just upgraded to Aperture 3.2.2 via App Store.  The library's were updated to the latest version and all permissions and repairs done, both on Aperture and on the system.

I have carried out 2 re-installs of Aperture and on each attempt to start (via application or library) Aperture hangs then I have to Force Quit.

I have created a new test library and tried to open Aperture through that, without success.

However, if I go onto Guest account, Aperture opens and runs normally.

Please can somebody help... whist I photo is OK, Aperture is key to managing my library of around 8,000 photos.

Thank you.

Your Aperture 3.3.2 seems to be hanging while trying to contact Mobile Me, if I understand that "[MM_MMTransaction _dispatch] + 142 (MobileMe) [0x10133853c]" correctly. Did you have a Mobile Me account? Two things you could try:

    1. Disconnect from the Internet, before launching Aperture and remove the MobileMe account from your Aperture "Preferences > Web" panel, if you can launch Aperture this way.
    2. Or remove the Aperture Prefernces in your User library. See the Aperture 3 Trouble Shooting Basics http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805 on how to do this.

    Delete the user preferences

You can resolve many issues by restoring Aperture back to its original settings. This will not impact your image files or your library. To reset your Aperture user preference settings to their original state, do the following:

    1. Quit Aperture.
    2. In the Finder choose Go to folder from the Go menu.
    3. Type~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field. Press the Go button.
    4. Remove the "com.apple.Aperture.plist" file from the Preferences folder.

    Thanks,

I had to take a different route, but in the end simply disconnecting the internet did the trick.

    Thank you.
