Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
This is the second day this week that I go to use the talk to text, i press the icon, speak, and the purple dots appear in the bar and nothing happens. I try again. Still no text will appear. I ask siri to text for me and a few moments later, she says that she is sorry, but is unavailble at this time. hmmmm
iPhone 4S
I think there is a lot of people with siri or dictation problems right now, I called 4 friends having the same issues. All are on Verizon in Michigan
I am on AT&T and so is my coworker. Siri and dictation on my iPhone and iPad do not work. Siri on her iPhone does.
Neither Siri nor dictation are working on my iPhone 4S today. Dictation just keeps spinning forever. Siri eventually times out and either tells me there's a problem or that she "didn't get that."
i just got off the phone with Apple and the lady informed me that Siri is getting an update atm. She couldnt give me an ETA on when she would be back up but said to try her out later this evening. So it looks and sounds like an Apple problem.

No problem, I just got the phone 2 days ago im in Mississippi and on AT&T as well, so i think we have a majority of the country covered lol

I suppose it would be helpful for Apple PR to issue a service announcement of some kind when they do this sort of thing (who knows, maybe they did), but, whatever, not that big a deal.
It would be helpful to receive some information about widespread problems with Siri. I'm not exactly who to contact, Apple or Verizon?
I agree, Apple needs to issue announcements on problems like this... Maybe Twitter? I was pulling my hair out trying to get Siri to send a text earlier, oh well, guess I'll try her again tomorrow.
Is everyone that is having this problem from the MA area? I went to the sprint store today because i thought my iphone was broken! he tried his phone and all the other ones in the store and they all did the same thing, called sprint and they didnt really tell me what was going on but that it was only in my area? the guy at the sprint store said it might be because of something they are doing to get ready for the iphone 5. i cant download apps either.. anyone else?
I called my carrier yesterday and they researched it and found it is an issue with Apple servers. Still not working today. I'm in Ohio.
I suspected it was a regional MA problem at first....... but judging from the level of response, it seemed more widespread.
By the way, I wrote this message using dictation..... so I would say that it's back now!
