Partial Sync of iPhone Calendar with iCloud and iMac Calendar

The calendar on my iPhone 4S only partly syncs with Calendar on my iMac and with iCloud. I tried syncing over the air and through the tether to the computer and iCloud, with the same results. Anybody know what's going on? I'm running Mountain Lion v. 10.8.1 on the iMac, and the iOS on the iPhone is up to date.

One reason why you could only be seeing some of your Calendars on the iPhone is because you may only have it set to view certain Calendars when you open your Calendar application. When you open Calendar tap Calendars in the top left hand corner and make sure iCloud, Home, Work, etc. is all selected. If you still can't see your calendars check to see if you're seeing the complete Calendar on iCloud.com. If that looks fine it has to be a setting on the phone. Also, if you go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars in Settings make sure you have Calendars turned off for all e-mail accounts you have set up. This can interfere with your iCloud Calendar sync settings.

I made sure that the calendar names on the iPhone, the iMac's Calendar, and iCloud all had the same names, but still got either no syncing at all or sporadic syncing. Then I had to run Applejack to try to resolve some problems with the iMac. It found and deleted some corrupted files, and now everything syncs wirelessly and as far as I can tell, instantly. Problem solved.
