Upgrade from 10.6.8 to 10.7 or 10.8?

I have 3 macs, 1 iMac running 10.6.8, with 2Ghz Intel core duo/1gig mem, also with Bootcamp)used occasionally, 2nd iMac running 10.6.8, with 3.06Ghz Intel core i3, with 4gig mem., also with Bootcamp(used very little) 3rd is a MacBook pro, running 10.7.4, with 2.4Ghz core i7, with 4gig mem., also with Bootcamp(moderate usage). I was considering upgrading the 2 iMacs to 10.7.4, but I want to verify what problems I might encounter with Bootcamp? Can I just do a standrd upgrade to 10.7, and bootcamp still function ok? Also, maybe I shoudl just consider a bulk used liscense and upgrade all 3 to 10.8? But again the Bootcamp question, will it still work?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

If your specs are accurate, your oldest iMac running a core duo processor is not upgradable to Lion or Mountain Lion. Both of those OS releases require a Core 2 Duo (64 bit) processor, so your older Core Duo (32 bit) processor will not work.

Aside from that, if your purchase your Lion or Mountain Lion OS from the Mac App Store, then you can install it on any Mac you own that is also using the same Mac App Store account. This means that if you purchase the 10.8 license through the Mac App Store, then you and install it on any of your machines that will support it.

Thanks, I had also just figured out that the older core duo would not work. Do you know if I upgrade the other IMac to 10.7 or 10.8 if it will cause any Bootcamp usage Issues?

Thanks again

It may or it may not. It is not supposed to but you never know, You can use a program to backup that BC partitions. I think it is from Paragon but don't wuote me on that. So if you do have any problems toy can restore it. But then what version of Windows is install in the BC partition.
