My Kodak printer won't work from my iPad any ideals ?

No Kodak printers appear in the AirPrint KB article you just read: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
not sure why it won't, but I know that it can. (Presuming your printer is a wifi printer)
I have a kodak ESP printer. It's not an airprint printer, but I can print using the app Print n Share.
Also, a potentially free option, I know that Kodak put out a firmware update last year that enabled a form of cloud printing for many of their wifi printers. IIRC, your options are to use a hard wired printer as a print server...you'd upload your file to the cloud, which will then download to that hardwired printer and print. I believe they also offer printing through google docs (i didn't need another online account or wanted to leave the desktop on so I didn't bother with it)
So I'd look on Kodak's site and see what they offer for your printer. If none of those options work for you you can look into apps such as Print n Share or Print Central.
To print with an iPad, you either need an AirPrint printer, a computer that can act as a print server running software such as Printopia or AirPrintActivator, various printing apps that claim to be able to work, or a dedicated print server like an Xprintserver.
I downloaded this app just for Kodak called pic flick, and it works like a charm, it quickly found my printer and printed just as quick, trust you won't be disappointed.
I am having trouble printing from my kodak hero 5.1 printer. Three different people have tried to make it work over four hours. It took 5 minutes to set my laptop up to print with it perfectly. I ave tried the apps pic flick, print n share and icanprint. They all recognize the printer, but hang up at the point where you try to print a test page.
Any ideas other than returning the printer.
This is probably going to sound silly, and no offense, but with print n share, you have to open the app, then open the e-mail account or document then print from within the app. Is that how you're doing it?
FOr example, if I'm printing a document from my documents to go app, i have to open print n share, navigate to the app and document, open it within print n share then print.
it does take a bit to print, I think the lack of ram on my iPad 2 makes the app a bit slow, but it does work. I don't have the same model printer as you have, but I've gotten it to work with both my touch and iPad.

If AirPrint is important to you, and you can return the printer, then return the printer and buy one that is AirPrint compatible. Your Kodak is not.
AirPrint just works. Any other solution will involve varying degrees of inconvenience or expense or both.
