Is it ok to put iPad 2 in a plastic bag in sleep mode?

Is it ok to put iPad 2 in a plastic bag in sleep mode. Will it overheat? Or should I turn it off completely? I need to seal the iPad in a 1 gallong plastic bag to protect it from rain, and I am worried about it overheating in sleep mode, since it is still running some functions.

thanks, Kevin

I'd like to slightly echo the comments from "Tex." I have a possibly illogical objection to putting any heat-producing object inside a plastic bag. If there is some reason why you don't want to turn the iPad off, leave the bag cracked open and hold it with the opening down (but carry it such that the iPad doesn't fall out).

I had a friend that went by the nickname "Tex." He was from Louisiana but didn't want to be called "Louise!"

One time while cooking, and wanting to use my ipad for recipes, i wrapped it up in plastic glad wrap to keep it safe from spills. Kept it like that for 3-4 days and it was fine even while using apps - the heat output was minimal. But I wasnt playing games or movies, which would drive up the heat significantly.

Ultimately its your call though. I would agree with the above posters that it shouldnt be too serious an issue :)
