Q: error message when restoring

I am trying to restore an old iPod, but when I do it says error can not be restored because updater software is busy and then....

iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod

Please help

the iPod cannot be restored"An unknown error has occurred" followed by the error number (1429).

Have you tried everything here yet?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
