synch photes from pc to apple tv 1gen.

When I sync photos from my pc to apple tv 1generation via itunes, the synch process starts very fast but after appr. 10 to 20 photos transferred it gets awfully slow and sometimes the sync. process stops and the apple tv disconnects fro itunes. There is no difference if I use ethernet or wlan, the proble is the same. Can anybody help.
