Sep 8, 2012 9:23 AM in response to Jim Chubbby Kirby Krieger,Hi Jim,
You are very far from any limit based on the software. Apple at one point said that Aperture can handle 1,000,000 Images. I run some large Libraries, and so built a test Library of 400,000. Aperture handled it without problem (depending on hardware, loading can take a while, and Faces is very slow). IME, Aperture's resource handling is superb.
Something else is going wrong.
- How are you importing?
- Why didn't you just upgrade iPhoto and Aperture, upgrade the iPhoto Library, and then open it in Aperture?
- What error messages did you receive (quote them)?
- Do you have plenty of free storage space?
- Are iPhoto and Aperture running well otherwise?

Sep 8, 2012 10:57 AM in response to Kirby Kriegerby Jim Chubb,I'm not importing. It was automatic. The Aperture and iPhoto Libraries are one.
iPhoto 9.3.2 and Aperture 3.3.2 are the most recent upgrades
No error messages
Tons of free space
Both running well
Aperture simply stopped importing all photos after 10/11/2011
Also it is not importing my raw files from iPhoto, just the jpegs.

Sep 8, 2012 11:08 AM in response to Jim Chubbby Kirby Krieger,Jim -- sorry -- I can't tell what you have done. If you are not importing, why is Aperture importing? When you say "It was automatic", what is "It"? If your iPhoto and Aperture Libraries are merged ("The Aperture and iPhoto Libraries are one", how did that happen? Was the merge completed?
These two Apple support pages detail much about using the shared Library file format. Perhaps they'll shed some light on your problems:
