Mac Mini headphone jack not working

I have a mac mini. I used to have headphone plugged in and it was working fine till a couple of hrs before. Suddenly my headphone of my mac mini stopped working. I tried another speaders but no sound. Strange is that mac mini internal speaker is working fine, but not the headphone jack.

Any ideas ? Is this a software issue or headware ?

Keeping in mind that there is both an input and an output (headphone) jack, are you plugging into the correct jack?

If so and it is still not working, proceed to the following steps.

1. Restart your Mac Mini

2. Reset the SMC > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

3. Reset the PRAM > Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

Then if it is still not working, contact Apple Support or your AASP and make arrangments for a service appointment. > Apple - Support - Mac mini - Service FAQ
