Q: ipod touch doesn't respond to touch and holding the on/off button and home button doesn't fix it i need help

please help me ive been without my ipod touch for the longest.

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 5.1.1

Try the following:
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

If the restore was successful, that is it went through all the steps without errors, then yo have a hardware problem and service is required.
