Macbook Pro making clicking noises

My 2012 Mbp's hard drive is making clicking noise from time to time.........I know for sure that its not the SMC (my mbp is sitting still)

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

I'm having this issue too. It gets worse when using the machine in clamshell mode (lid is closed).

The Only Thing That Will Make That Noise Is THe Hard Drive. It Could Be SMC If You Laptop Has Vibration Going On. Or I Could Be Your Hard Drive Going To Sleep/Power Saving Mode When Hard Drive Is Not In Use. If It Not Ethier Of These Then Your Hard Dive Needs To Be Replaced If THe Noise Bothers You. But The Slightest Tilt Or Shake To The Computer Should Triger This Noise Because It Thinks The Laptop Is Droping So It Saves The Hard Drive By Cutting Off
