HDMI to HD TV problem in MCP

Hi guys! when i have a MacBook Pro (17-inch 2.4GHz) and I connect it with the HDMI Griffin adaptor to my HD TV but I get "NO SIGNAL" from the TV. I checked the display but cant detect anything in the display option. does anyone know what I should do?
