I've got an early 2009 Mac Pro with the following specs:

2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB

OS X 10.8.1

Problem is, at random times, my Mac would just shut down and then restart after I clicked through the "gray your Mac shut down without telling you because it's selfish" warning screen.

I took it to a local computer shop and they couldn't really tell, and suggested I do a clean install of Mountain Lion. I did that, got everything back on from Time Machine (just Documents and Music, no Libraries per the technician's instructions), and then last night it did it again. Restarted while I was working on a web site. No notice.

I wondered if someone could help me diagnose the problem or problems(s), since I can't make ANY sense of the sytem report.

Here is the complete system report when the panic occurred. Thanks for ANY help at all you can provide.

The third-party system modification "LogMeIn" may be contributing to your problem. I suggest you uninstall it according to the developers' instructions, reboot, and see whether there's any improvement.

It died in stuff related to the graphics card drivers:

    Kernel Extensions in backtrace:

             com.apple.GeForce(8.0)

You have one non-Apple kernel extension which could be contributing to the problem, and Apple will not pay attention until you replicate the crash with this extension gone:

    loaded kexts:

    com.logmein.driver.LogMeInSoundDriver          1.0.0

You are running two of a type of graphics cards that are not being sold anymore, so they may not be well tested.

Get rid of LogMeIn and see whether the kernel panics stop.

Why fret over what might be?  if that fixes the problem, great!

Try with just one GT120. Swap. Try with other. ML and two GT120's may be factor as well.

Either you didn't completely uninstall LogMeIn, or you didn't reboot after uninstalling it.

Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the third-party developers, or to follow their instructions. In some cases it may be necessary to re-download or even reinstall the software in order to get rid of it.

Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, email the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.

If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.

Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

    It's a GPU or logic-board fault. I can't be more specific.
