Q: ipod 20GB buttons not responding--off, play, forward, etc.?

ipod 20GB acting weird....buttons not responding a lot of the time---on, off, forward, back, etc.

 

I can turn it off and when I put it in the dock, it will turn back on and have trouble turning it off again...stuff like that.

 

Any ideas?   Thanks,

    Have you try the Reset

    1. After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
    2. Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the  next step
    3. Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
    4. Then release the buttons
    5. Select your preferred language.

    Thanks.  No luck. Won't turn off most of the time when I hold down the play button for a few seconds.

    If it goes to sleep and awake by itself, without touching and buttons or connecting to a dock, you may need to Restore the iPod. (but not too sure how your old iPod firmware is handled by iTunes 10.6)

     

    Normally when I press play/pause for 3 secs, it will go to sleep and will start back, when any button is press, or connected to a dock.
