SLVR will not play songs - please help!

Two weeks ago I purchased a SLVR phone. Everything works fine on it except my songs won't play. My phone connects to iTunes properly and the songs are transfered properly. BUT, when I play the songs, each title appears on the screen for about 1 second before skipping to the next. The next songs all subsequently skip until the playlist is completed - without any songs actually playing. I have done the following:
- contacted motorola several times
- exchanged phones twice (I'm on my third phone - all experiencing the exact same issues)
- completed master resets on all phones
- reformatted the memory cards on all phones
- used songs purchased from iTunes store
- used songs burned from my own CD
- used podcasts from a friend's computer
- uninstalled iTunes/re-installed iTunes
- used the iTunes version from the CD delivered with the phone
- upgraded to the latest iTunes version available (6.0.4 I believe)

None of these steps work. Always the same issue with all songs on all three phones. Motorla has no idea what is wrong. Please help!
