should i clear cache on MPB 2012

reading mixed reviews/opinions and wondering if the speed increase is real and what are the after effects?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

Welcome to Apple Support Communities

It's for apps that have got a cache, so probably you aren't going to see a performance increase of Mountain Lion. Open Finder, select Go > Go to Folder and delete the files of:

~/Library/Caches

/Library/Caches
