It is there if you wish to connect Bluetooth devices (for example, a keyboard).

HI

I get what you are saying by what is the use because you cant connect apple devices (ipad to iphone etc.)

However it is great for bluetooth speakers (playing music), air dropping in updates, airplay etc.
