Can I merge my iCloud contact book with my contacts on the mac

On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud

Deselect the box next to Contacts then reselect it.

That should merge the contact list.

It may take a minute or two to re sync.

this also solved a seperate issue that i had. my icloud account wouldnt read my .vcf cards that i wanted to import.
