Reversing clip produces still image! The green retiming bar shows "Reverse Normal (-100%)" but playing the clip results in a still image. Any suggestions? (I am only connected intermittently, so it could be a few days before I can respond. Thanks!)

Thanks for the quick reply, Tom. I'm relatively new to this, but here's what I get from the info window: The clip is 1080p, 1920x1080, 23.98 fps (transcoded to high quality media from a GH2 AVCHD file). Project Properties: 1080p HD, 1920x1080, 24p.
The project properties should 23.98 as well, not 24. Try selecting everything in the project and copying it. Make a new project in the correct timebase and paste everything into it.
I tried that. No change.
So I created a new project in 23.98fps, edited the clip into it. No difference. It continues to produe a still image.
Does the timeline filmstrip reverse? Can't reproduce the problem. Did you try rendering it?
Trash the preferences using Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager.
Repair Permissions on your drive using Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility).
Restart the Mac.
If that fails, you probably have a conflict on your system. Create a new (Admin) user in System Preferences and launch FCP X after logging in as that user. If it works, a clean reinstall of your System Drive is advisable.

I finally got back to the internet with some time. I am crediting Tom with the solution but appreciate the heads up about the Digital Rebellion Pref. Mgr. from AndyNick.
I'm guessing that changing to 23.98 solved it. But what I have since noticed is that FCP X seems to get a little tweaky sometimes and that restarting the app will get things working again. When I originally changed the fps to 23.98 it didn't resolve the issue. After giving up, shutting down to leave and then later restarting, the issue WAS resolved.

I heaving the same problem but, no luck like "RJBob" at all!
I tried everything that "andynick" said and nothing...
And it's just happened when i updated to FCPX 10.0.7 before this everything was working nice.
2 days wasted trying to fix this...
