How Can I stop a Nervous Cursor?

For the last several weeks my cursor has developed a nervous affliction. When I try tp put it on a specific place it jumps around making it difficult to place. When I move it across the screen it jumps all around instead of tracking in a straight line. I've tried different tracking speeds to no avail. I hope someone has a fix. Thanx in advance.
