importing iCal data keeps running cannot shut off

Importing iCal data... it's continuously running, can't find a way to shut it off.

Quit iCal is 'greyed out' and cannot be accessed.

I cannot quit or shut it off.

I just disappled iCloud, still no help.

HELP!
