Is there a camera connection kit for iPhone for those who do not have an iPad?

There should be a way upload photos from a camera card via the iPhone, not just the iPad. Expecially when you are on vacation and wanting to post photos on FB or email to friends. The Apple Camera Connection Kit only works with iPad...is there a way to adapt it for use with iPhone? When I try to use it the iPhone tells me that it is not compatible with the accessory.
